How do I register?

Why is my personal, billing and credit card information required to become a member?

In order to eliminate the potential for false bidding practices, our auction software uses Address Verification Service (AVS) to confirm that each user is a verifiable bidder to whom we can match the name, address and credit card.

In order to pass the AVS verification, the format of your street address and zip code must match your bank.

Each time you click register, the AVS charges the card provided a small amount between $1.00 and $2.00. No funds are actually collected. This is for verification purposes only.

The provided information is confidential and secure. This is to ensure that participation in our auctions is as transparent and fair as possible for all parties involved.

Why was my credit card information declined?

Our auction software uses Address Verification Service (AVS) to match your name, billing address and credit card information to confirm that each user is a verifiable bidder.

If you believe your information is correct and you are being declined, please contact your bank to verify the format of your name, street address, and zip code. The format of your street address and zip code are crucial.

Reasons you may be declined:

- Transaction was submitted without a billing address.
- AVS data provided is invalid or AVS is not allowed for the card type that was used.
- The AVS system was unavailable at the time of processing.

How do I change my user ID and/or password?

• Sign in.
  
• Click on 'my account'.
  
• Under account, click on 'account details'.

To change your password:
On the right side, under 'Change Password' click the password button.

To change your user ID:
On the right side, under 'You may request to change your username,' click the request button.

• Under 'account' click on account details.
  
• On the right side, click the 'change' button to edit account information.
  
• Edit your information.
• Click the 'save' button.

• Sign in.
  
• Click on 'my account'.
  
• Under account click on 'billing details'.
  
• On the right side, click the 'change billing info' button to edit payment information.
  
• Edit your information.
• Click the save button.

• Sign in.
  
• Click on 'my account'.
  
• Under account click on 'account details'.
  
• On the right side, click the 'change' button to edit email preferences.
  
• Under email preferences, make sure the appropriate boxes are checked
• Click the 'save' button.
  
  If your email preferences are set correctly and you aren't receiving emails from Kramer Knives, check your junk mail folder. It is usually helpful to add our email address to your contacts.
  
  Please contact us directly if the problem persists.

You must be registered and sign in to place a bid.

From the 'auction home' page, click on the image or text of the knife for sale. The item's auction page will open. Under the 'BIDDING' section:

• Enter your maximum bid, and click the 'review bid' button.
  
• Review your bid, and click the 'confirm bid' button.
• You will automatically receive a bid confirmation email.
• If another user outbids your maximum bid, we will notify you by email.

To raise your maximum bid, place a higher bid at any time before the auction closes.

Our auction software sets bid increments automatically as an auction progresses. The increments are based on the minimum starting bids.

For example, if a starting minimum bid is $50.00, then the bid increment will be $50.00. If a starting minimum bid is $100.00, then the bid will be $100.00.

By placing a bid, you agree that you will purchase the item for the amount of your bid should you be the high bidder at closing. The only exception is in the case of an obvious and serious error, as outlined in our Terms & Conditons.

To cancel a bid, time is of the essence. You must inform us immediately by email.

All payments are due within 2 days of the award of your winning bid.

If for any reason payment is not made, we reserve the right to offer the item to the second highest bidder or re-post the item for sale in a new auction. Read our Terms & Conditions.

We ship UPS 2nd Day Air after payment is processed.

• Members must be eighteen (18) years or older.
• You will not provide any false personal information.
• Your contact info, email address and billing info must be valid.
• You will not do anything to jeopardize the security of your account.
• Before bidding on an item, you must read our Privacy Policy and Terms.
• You can only participate in the auction if you truly intend to buy the item.
• When you place a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you have the highest bid.
• You may not do anything to interfere with anyone's use and enjoyment of this site.
• We won't send you any spam, nor will we share your personal information with anyone else.
• Kramer Knives reserves the right to cancel any membership at any time.
• You may not engage in, facilitate, or futher unlawful conduct.
• You can cancel your account at any time.
  

You will be informed by email when an auction opens and closes. We may send out a 'last call' notice (for example 12 hours or 1 hour before the auction closes).

Our Auction site is designed to automatically email you in the event that

• you have submitted a bid,
• you have been outbid by another bidder, or
• you have won the item you were bidding on.

Please ensure that the SPAM filter on your email program is set to accept emails from us. It is usually helpful to add our email address 'kramerknives@earthlink.net' to your contacts.

You will only receive an "you have been outbid by another bidder" email if you are the high bidder.

If you change your email address, you must update your registration Information by going to My Account > Account Details > Change Account Info > Email Preferences.
